Your team has to complete the following tasks to make your 3D cake.

  1. Make your sponge
  2. Form shape
  3. Base coat
  4. Piping
  5. Assemble
  6. Take photo 🙂

1-3 hours depending on team work, communication. No skills needed other than a sense of fun, positive attitude and good listening.

Step 1: construct your own sponge cake.
Taste, texture and shape are important.
Get the shape wrong and you’ll not get a 3D cake. Big challenge!!!
Step 2: Piece your sponge together to form the shape. Each layer must get a nice layer of butter cream to hold the cake together. You don’t want your cake to topple or come undone.

Step 3: Apply your base coat on your cake. This is your canvass. Make sure that the surface is even and smooth. Some teams are creative they create interesting buttercream canvass.

Step 4: Start piping your pattern. This takes a steady hand, a lot of patience and eye for detail.

Step 5: Assembling your cake with the fondant parts.

Step 6:  Enjoy the fruit of your efforts :-).

Lastly please don’t forget to collect your cakes eventhough your parent is double parked, furiously honking the horn. Your cakes are still in our display. Please come collect them:

We have a lot of hungry vultures eyeing to eat your cute cakes.
